Scope of the Position

The Hardcoat Production Engineer is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the Hardcoat Production Line.

Responsibilities
  • Reports to the Hardcoat Manufacturing Manager
  • Responsible to train and supervise the Hardcoat Process Technicians.
  • Understands the GC equipment and can perform chemistry checks, including solids checks and film builds.
  • Verifies and reviews all daily fixture angle checks with responsibility to develop and execute trials for quality/productivity improvements.
  • Verifies and reviews daily Hardcoat system checks to identify issues and develop reaction plans.
  • Verifies and reviews all daily GC test results.
  • Verifies and reviews all daily Filmetrics test results.
  • Reviews line run data with responsibility to develop and execute issues for quality concerns.
  • Responsible for communication and escalation of any process issues or quality concerns.
  • Knowledge of all system operating parameters with responsibility to develop and execute trails of quality/productivity improvements.
  • Knowledge of the process equipment and controls with responsibility to troubleshoot.
  • Understand the Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) system including operation and basic troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of all process chemicals with responsibility to develop and execute trials for quality/productivity improvements.
  • Supervises the fixture maintenance activities.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications
  • Must have an Engineering degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Basic reading, math and problem solving skills.
  • Experience and understanding of: Allen Bradley - Rockwell - Fanuc - Paint Processes and Paint Pro software.
  • Proficiency in the operation of a computer with the understanding of basic MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Effective, professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must lead continue improvement projects and/or teams
  • Ability to stand and move on concrete for 8-12 hours/day
  • Abilitty to see, walk, bend, reach, grasp, stopp, kneel, twist, carry, push, pull and use both hands in grasping with gross and fine motor skills.
  • Must be able to pass a pulmonary test and be fitted for a full face breathing mask to work inside the coating booths.
