The Process Engineering Technician is responsible for the complex molding tools, materials, and processes for injection molding machines. Also will be responsible for the training and development of process technicians
- Continually monitor and troubleshoot all processes related to injection molding and perform adjustments as needed to ensure jobs are running to standard rates (labor, cycle time, scrap rate, etc.)
- Assists with launches of new programs by building a new process to ensure quality production of parts and attends launch meetings prior to production start-up
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses complex injection molding processes using a wide variety of engineered and commodity type resins on a wide range of injection molding machinery
- Supports process improvement projects through design, procurement, installation and start-up of equipment
- Ensures presses are running correct cycle times and match what is documented
- Investigate new materials and determine molding parameters
- Implement process improvement projects safely in order to ensure safety, quality and productivity objectives are met
- Build communication and relationships with Supervisors
- Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department
- Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency and utilization
- Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance
- Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years experience in processing injection molding, automotive-based class A products preferred
- Ability to analyze and diagnosis complex machine/molding processes.
- Training and or mentoring experience within a manufacturing environment
- Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal Supervision
